You've tried rosemary. You've tried castor oil. Meet Usma.
Usma (Isatis tinctoria) is a green botanical that families across Central Asia have worked into the scalp and brows for generations. It's an everyday ritual there, and almost unknown here.
Ours comes from farms near our founder's hometown, the region where the tradition began.
Studied, not just storied
A heritage botanical that science took seriously.
Usma is one of the rare traditional ingredients that modern researchers have examined for its relationship with the scalp and hair follicle.
Caffeic Acid
Soothes and calms the scalp, supporting a healthier foundation for hair to grow from.
Gallic Acid
A potent antioxidant that helps protect hair and scalp, supporting strength and resilience.
Kaempferol
Antioxidant flavonoid that helps defend the scalp from the daily oxidative stress that tires follicles.
Tryptanthrin
A clarifying botanical compound long valued in Usma's traditional use.
Indigo & Indirubin
Usma's signature blue-green compounds, the ones that first drew modern researchers to the plant.
Three steps, 2–3 times a week.

Mix
Mix 1–2 tsp with warm water into a smooth paste.

Apply
Apply to scalp and hairline. Leave on 20–30 minutes, or longer if you like. Some customers leave it on for a few hours.

Rinse
Rinse with water. That's it.
The best sign it's working is when someone else notices.
He exclaimed, 'what have you been doing to your hair because you have so much new growth!'
"My scalp feels nourished and healthy... it left my hair feeling healthy and with lots of volume."
"Much easier to use than I thought. You can clean it with just water."
Healthy hair comes from consistent care. Most customers describe changes over months, not days.
What's in it, and what's not.
In it
Not in it
- Fragrance
- Oils
- Fillers
- Synthetic additives
- Harsh chemicals
A different approach to thinning hair.
Stronger actives
Can work, but often mean ongoing dependency and side effects some women want to avoid. The mask is made for gentle, long-term use.
Oils and DIY
Familiar, but greasy and hard to stick with. The mask rinses out with water.
Waiting it out
Hair changes are gradual, so it's easy to do nothing. A simple ritual gives you something consistent to do now.

I made this during my own postpartum hair loss.
After my baby was born, my hair started falling out. I was already developing this mask, so I tested every version on myself and worked with farms near my hometown to get the Usma right. It's the product I wish I'd had.
Nazuk is named after my mother, who taught me this ritual.
Questions
How long until I notice a difference?
Everyone's hair is different. Many customers first notice a cleaner, calmer-feeling scalp, with changes in their hair showing up over a few months of consistent use.
How do I use it?
Mix 1–2 tsp with warm water, apply to scalp and hairline, leave on 20–30 minutes or longer, then rinse. Use 2–3 times a week.
Can I use it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
The mask is a single plant ingredient with nothing added. Still, please check with your doctor before starting anything new, and patch test first.
Could I be allergic?
Usma is a grass. If you have plant or grass allergies, patch test before full use.
How long does one bottle last?
Several weeks at 2–3 uses per week.
Is it okay for color-treated hair?
It's a single natural ingredient with no chemical additives, so it's generally gentle enough. If you've had a recent chemical service, patch test or check with your stylist.
